My Mama….

This lady here! Everybody Loves Robin. My mother is one of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet. She has always been my biggest cheerleader, even when what I was doing didn’t require cheer. I remember this one time when I was a young adult, I had asked her advise about something. I don’t even remember what it was, but in true Robin fashion, she was encouraging me to move forward. I was like, “Mama! Everything I do is not good.” I think I hurt her feelings, but I guess I was wanting her to try and talk me out of whatever foolishness it was. 20 somethings…go figure!

Proverbs 11:16 A kindhearted woman gains respect.

Toasting the happy couple!
(Her Oldest Son, MY little brother & New Daughter in Law)

Proverbs 31:30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

My attempt at toasting my little brother. There goes my Cheerleader!

A couple of my cousins and I always joke with her about her Party Animal side. Whenever a certain variety of line dance songs come on, you can believe she will, like my husband says, “Shake a Tail Feather”.Lets not even talk about karaoke! Gladys Knight will rally some Pips. She is so much fun!

Shaking that Tail Feather!

Now, for the sappy stuff. I know that I didn’t always make it easy on my mother, as I, like I before mentioned, was the strong willed first born, AND the only girl. It was just me until I was 8, so, needless to say, I had “Boss Mentality”. We had our struggles, but I know now that it was all by design. God makes no mistakes. She is an awesome mother, a faithful Christian, a doting Grandmother, and one of my very best friends & supporters. Mama, keep doing you like you do! I love you.

Deep Thoughts with Kellie: If you are blessed to still have your mother, cherish her. I know we sometimes get caught up with our own busy lives, and don’t always make the time like we should. Go pick Mama up and take her to dinner, spend the afternoon shopping, or whatever it is that she enjoys doing.

On an added note, I am fortunate to have a full set of Grandparents that are still with us. The elderly are another forgotten asset. I try to make it a point to call and chat with them once a week, and try to get out to see them at least once a month. My 21 year old daughter, is VERY close to her Granny, and goes and checks on her often. Grandma & Kamren are so cute together. My Grandma calls Kamren, Kammy, and has for years. Sometimes, she even slips and calls me Kammy. I just let her make it. After all, she is my Favorite Girl!”
