Right on Time…

Hey there, Friends! I am pretty sure that I have mentioned quite a few times that I am your “Friendly Neighborhood Social Director”, as so dubbed by Rhonda, who is a part of my girlfriends group. With that being said, over the past few weekends, I have coordinated a couple of get togethers with cousins from my Mother’s side, and from my Other side! Anytime we get together, there’s always good food, good times, laughter, and a good little bit of trash talk.

On my mother’s side, I am #3 in the cousin line. Sabrina is #1, and she makes sure that we always remember that. She is a strong woman, who has raised 3 college graduates on her own. Has battled and conquered breast cancer, and works her butt off to help others. During this last gathering, (as she continued to go on an on about being the 1st) we were discussing priority in responding to texts, calls, and emails. She mentioned that someone in particular wasn’t in her top 5, and my response to that was that I didn’t need to be in the top 5, I just would like an answer if I ask a question. She went on to say that I was actually in her top 5 on Thursdays! SMH! I was done with that conversation.

Sabrina and her Crew!

Fast forward to today… Thursday. Mind you, there have been numerous occasions when she has texted me and her words were just what I needed. Never crossed my mind that it was always the same day of the week when she reached out. Take a gander at the below…

With all of the struggles she has endured, and continues to go through to get her body back on track, she takes the time to uplift others. Always an encouraging word and cheer to be spread.

Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

There was this one day when I was feeling pretty low, and her text, that came out of nowhere, truly lifted my spirits and made me proud to know that she was proud of me. It was the pat on the back that I needed that day that went right along with the prayer that I prayed. Thank you, Sabrina. Just for being you.

(“I guess you got your Cousin Shout-Out post after all.”)

Be Blessed,
